You can like an image without remembering seeing it

Researchers showed people shapes and photos too briefly to recognize them. Even so, people could end up liking repeated images more than new ones.

This is called the mere-exposure effect: seeing something again can change how much you like it, without a clear memory of seeing it before. The experiments do not show that repeating something always makes it likable.
