Eli pressed his fingers against the cool glass of the dryer, its drum spinning silently despite the absence of power. The scent of detergent clung to the air, mixing with the stale aroma of the laundromat. A shiver ran down his spine as he noticed a small, wet handprint forming on the inside of the glass. He took a step back, heart racing, as the dryer suddenly stopped and the door creaked open with a slow groan.
