A monster that grows stronger when you attack it

In Greek myths, cutting a head off the Hydra makes more heads grow back. Writer Nassim Nicholas Taleb uses this monster to explain "antifragile": something that benefits from being disturbed or damaged.

A tough shield survives a hit. The Hydra becomes harder to beat because it was hit.

The story explains a difference. It does not mean every person or system grows stronger after harm.
