In the Second Book of Kings, Elisha, a prophet seen as speaking for God, is walking to the town of Bethel. Some boys come out and jeer: “Get out of here, baldy!”
Elisha turns and curses them in God’s name. Right after that, two bears come out of the woods and maul 42 of the boys.
The whole story takes just two verses. Then Elisha simply walks on.
