The Eiffel Tower’s iron expands when heated. If sunlight warms one side more than the other, that side expands more, pushing the top slightly away from the Sun.
As the Sun moves across the sky, the uneven heating changes and the top shifts with it. The Paris landmark is fixed to the ground, but its metal still responds to the changing temperature.
