Oxford University taught students before the Aztec capital existed

Records show classes at England’s Oxford University in 1096. That is over 200 years before the usual date given for the start of the Aztec capital: 1325.

The city, Tenochtitlan, stood where Mexico City is today. The dates mark different things: classes at a university and the start of a city. A record of classes does not tell us when Oxford first opened.
