Remove the Cue Before the Craving

The easiest moment to break a habit often comes before the habit starts.

If opening your laptop reveals a snack bowl beside the keyboard, the environment has already made the next move for you.

Move the bowl out of sight and the craving may still appear, but now it requires an active search instead of 1 automatic reach.

That small delay matters because habits feed on the path that is easiest to follow.

Change the object, place, or time that starts the behavior. Willpower works better when the room stops voting first.
