In the Gospel of Mark, one of the Bible’s accounts of Jesus’s life, Jesus is arrested at night and his followers run away.
Then comes a strange detail. A young man wearing nothing but a linen cloth is following Jesus. When the guards grab him, he slips out of the cloth, so he runs off naked.
The Gospel never says who he was or why he was there.
